Sean M. Kilpatrick
Assistant Dean, Student/Post-Graduate Support Services

Sean is a proud alumnus of the University of Miami.  He completed his B.A. in Psychology and Criminology in 2006 and earned his M.S.Ed. in Higher Education Administration with a concentration in Enrollment Management as well as a Certificate in Student Life and Development in 2009.  Before joining the SONHS, Sean held various positions in the Department of Psychology’s Undergraduate Academic Services for Psychology office, beginning as an Academic Advisor in 2006 and most recently serving for three years as Director.  In his current capacity, Sean oversees all OSS operations, serves as one of the School’s primary troubleshooters, and works closely with the OSS team to create a vision for the office that ensures the highest-quality student services and supports the growing fields of nursing, public health, and health studies, globally and within the University. 



Joseph Yancey
Recruiter, Undergraduate/Graduate Admissions

Joseph joined the Office of Student Services in May 2015.  He earned his B.S. degree from Morehouse College in 2008 and his M.A. degree from Michigan State University in 2013.  He is currently pursuing a Post-Master’s Certificate in Higher Education Administration at the University of Miami.  He has worked for several institutions of higher education in research and admissions capacities.  Joseph is responsible for facilitating admission and recruitment activities for the School of Nursing & Health Studies (SONHS).  He also serves as the primary contact for students that are interested in pursuing SONHS programs.


Graduate Programs

Daphne Perez
Admission Services Representative, Graduate Admissions

Daphne is part of a long family tradition of service at the University of Miami.  She joined the University in December 1989, and prior to working for the SONHS, she worked in the University’s Benefits Administration office for 19 years.  She is also a graduate of the University with a B.B.A. degree.  Daphne handles the admission process for all Master’s degrees and for the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, and Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Master’s Certificate programs.  She also serves graduate students throughout their life cycle: she processes applications, tracks student progress, registers students for courses, and moves students through to graduation.

Frances Y. Tous
Sr. Program Coordinator

Frances joined the University of Miami in August 2016.  She earned her B.A. degree from Universidad Del Sagrado Corazón and her M.A. degree from Utah State University.  She has worked for several institutions of higher education in various capacities, including career services, academic advising, and registration.  Frances handles the application process for the MSN Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, MSN Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, MSN-to-DNP, BSN-to-PhD, and MSN-to-PhD programs.  She also serves graduate students throughout their life cycle by tracking their academic progress, registering them for courses, and moving them through to graduation.

Jacquelyn Rodriguez

Admission Services Representative, Graduate Admissions

Jacquelyn is new to the University of Miami family, having recently joined the SONHS in March 2017.  She is a Miami native and earned her B.A. from Florida International University.  Jacquelyn will be assisting applicants to the SONHS, especially those who have the intent of completing the MSN Family Nurse Practitioner program.  She is excited to be part of the SONHS students’ academic and professional journey and to contribute to the growth of the OSS team. 


Undergraduate Programs

Anna R. Castro
Admission Services Representative, Undergraduate Admissions

Anna joined the SONHS in August 2000.  She handles all admissions processes for the Accelerated BSN and the Transfer BSN programs.  Prior to working in OSS, Anna served as the Donor Relations Coordinator, assisting with planning and fundraising to build the SONHS.  Anna is committed to the energy, enthusiasm, and vision shared amongst the OSS team. 

Danielle Sheerer
Advisor, Academic

Danielle Sheerer is a recent University of Miami alumna. She graduated in May 2016 with a B.S. in Mathematics. Joining the OSS team in March 2017, she serves as an Academic Advisor, eager to connect with students to explore their personal and professional interests and goals. She is passionate about service, trivia (and boasts an 8-week winning streak), data, and television. Following her parents’ legacy of service to the University of Miami, she is excited for this opportunity to work at her alma mater. 

Pamela A. Salemi
Sr. Advisor, Academic

Pamela joined the University of Miami in February 2000.  She is a Florida native and earned her B.S. from University of Florida and her M.B.A. in International Business from University of Miami.  Pamela enjoys working with students and motivating them to match their full potential.  She assists undergraduates with advising, curriculum planning, research participation, graduate school planning, and career preparation.  She also acts as one of the main contacts for the RN-to-BSN program and co-supervises the student employees.


Data Management

Jude G. D’haiti
Database Analyst

Jude joined the University of Miami in June 2001.  He is responsible for clinical clearances, data collection and reporting efforts, and maintenance of accurate electronic records for OSS.  Prior to joining the SONHS, Jude worked for the College of Arts and Sciences in the Center for Freshman Advising, and he has also served as a Customer Service Representative for Chase Manhattan Bank.  Jude is dedicated to providing customer service excellence to all students. 


Support Staff

Gloria Vallina
Administrative Assistant

Gloria has been working for the University of Miami since 2001.  She provides administrative support to the Assistant Dean, assists the staff as needed, triages student concerns, fields inquiries, and ensures the smooth functioning of the Office.  Prior to working for the SONHS, Gloria worked for the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Miami medical campus.  She is honored to be a part of the University family.

Jihan Muhammad-Abdullah
Administrative Assistant

Jihan joined the Office of Student Services in February 2016; however, she is not new to the University of Miami.  Having worked in a variety of departments on both the medical and main campuses, she brings a wealth of information to her role as Administrative Assistant.  Within the School of Nursing and Health Studies, Jihan serves a pivotal customer service role by acting as the first point of contact for students, faculty, and visitors alike.  Jihan is also a Florida International University alumna who looks forward to beginning her graduate studies at the University of Miami.
